Members and friends, welcome to our website! We are a vibrant, friendly and varied group of almost 200 quilters and quilt artists who have been sharing quilts, talent and camaraderie since 1981. There are monthly meetings, most of them with special speakers, quilt related activities, and show and tell. We have quilt shows every other year, and lots of quilt-ins, challenges, round robins, and community service projects, along with an impressive library for our members - something for everyone! As you navigate this website, you will see some of our work, check out our schedule, and share our accomplishments. If you are interested in quilting, please join us the first Thursday of the month for our Guild Meeting. We love to meet visitors and will make you feel at home!

Jennifer Sampou: Inspired Design

Thursday night's meeting featured designer Jennifer Sampou.  She spoke about where she finds inspiration: in travel, in nature, and in other artists' work.  She then showed her quilts and talked about how she developed some of her designs.

It's getting close to the quilt show, and there is lots to be done!  Be sure to sign up for your shift, sell opportunity quilt tickets, and maybe take a couple of posters or a sign to put in your yard.

October Meeting: Jennifer Sampou

Our October guest will be Jennifer Sampou, designer, quilter, traveler and lover of color and pattern and beauty.  The topic will be "Inspired Design."

Jennifer grew up in Massachusetts, the youngest of five in a very artistic family. She studied design at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City and textiles at the University of Vermont before moving to Wales to design for Laura Ashley. In the 1990s she became the creative director at P&B Textiles in San Francisco until she opened her business, Studio Sampou, in 1996, where she designs for the Robert Kaufman Company.

Jennifer wrote the book In the Nursery, and has recently released a line of patterns for C&T Publishing.

After several years in San Miguel de Allende in Mexico, Jennifer has recently moved back to the Bay Area with her family.

The meeting will be on Thursday, October 5th; doors open at 6pm and the meeting will start at 7pm. As always, guests are welcome and we ask a $5 donation at the door.

Anniversay Meeting

Our Anniversary meeting is July 6 and we are hoping for a great turnout along with a show and tell of the community service quilts produced at our community sew night on June 1.

Anniversary night is a great night to connect with guild members and even, maybe, greet some new members who are trying to connect with folks. Have you asked a guild member who hasn't been in a while to come visit with us?

We should be hearing who will preside over our next guild year. Our nominating committee has indicated that they have the positions filled. So, to those who stepped up, a big THANK YOU! I'm sure there are still positions on committees that will need filling, so if you want to help your guild be the best it can be, please sign up. Some committees are more fun with 2 or 3 working together.

Please come and help us celebrate our anniversary! This is a potluck dinner, so bring a true and tested food dish for us all to share. A favorite meeting with those who attend. There will be cake for dessert and more fun than you can imagine having.

See you all July 6!

Fun had in Margie Binker Workshop

It was shared at the guild board meeting that those who took the workshop with Margie Binker, had a fantastic time. They were sad they were so few, but thrilled with the one on one instructions from Margie. Here are some pictures to show what you missed.

Those who enjoyed this workshop will be bringing their quilts for show and tell. You don't want to miss it!

Excitment coming

Excitement is coming for those who work during the week. We are going to have a Saturday workshop and would love to have a full workshop. Ashley Coffey will be our guest Thursday night and then she will instruct us to make this quilt on Saturday. We would love to have you join us. There is homework before the workshop, so give our workshop chair, Laura, a call if you want to take the class. Check out our calendar section for the supply list and homework.

You can make a quilt like this is easy steps. There is a special ruler for doing this and you will need to let Laura know ahead of time if you need the ruler. Hope to see you there!

Workshops are a great way to meet our members and get to know one or twelve that you've not conversed with yet.

Hope to see you at our guild meetings April 6th and again at the workshop on Saturday, April 8th.

Remember, if you purchased a gift certificate earlier, this is one of the workshops you can use it on. Those gift certificates can be purchased from our workshop chair, Laura, in any amount you want. It would be like having money in the bank - you can pull it out when you need to use it.

Updates and more updates

Our calendar has been updated one again. We now have listed our offerings through the month of November. We hope to get the listings out at least one year and then fleshed out as soon as possible.

Our quilt show is coming in November and we will be updating where the quilt can be seen as well as a picture. We are gathering our ideas and our quilts for you. We have chosen our featured quilters and our theme. The dates are November 4 and November 5 and we will be the Silver Dollar Fairgrounds in Chico. We'd love to see you there!

Our March meeting is just a couple weeks away and we hope to see you there. Our speaker will be Annie Smith and she will be talking to us about "Help, My Stash is Growing" and hopefully what to do with that stash. Her workshop will be absolutely essential machine quilting. Contact Laura to sign up for the workshop.

Change in calendar

We have had a change in our calendar. Instead of one of our own, Peggy Arms, giving a trunk show at our April meeting, we will have Ashley Cofey, who owns a quilt store in Oroville. While there are no details available, as soon as they are they will be posted.

We are starting to get jazzed about our February meeting and we welcome all quilters, and those who just are interested in becoming quilters, to come join us for an evening of fun and education. When we have a speaker, there is a $5 charge for those who are not guild members.

Saturday, January 14, 2017

Our February speaker will be Jennifer Rapacki. She is a Tech-Savvy Fabric Artisan specializing in combined traditional quilting techniques with technology driven designs and inkjet printing on fabric. She brings to us over 30 years of sewing and computer experience. Her workshop will be be fun.

We've added a new workshop in April, and it's a Saturday. It will be $45 and include a ruler and a pattern. Our workshop will be taught by Ashley Cofey and we're still waiting for more details. It will be held at the Casa de Flores Recreation Room, April 8th. Stay tuned for more details.

Adding a new option for guild members and family or friends of guild members - workshop gift certificates!! Annie’s Star Quilt Guild is now offering gift certificates that can be purchased in any amount, and used towards a guild workshop.  They must be presented when registering for a class.  This is a great opportunity for your family and friends to purchase something you would truly use.  Certificates may be purchased at our monthly guild meetings or by contacting Laura Palmer @
