Members and friends, welcome to our website! We are a vibrant, friendly and varied group of almost 200 quilters and quilt artists who have been sharing quilts, talent and camaraderie since 1981. There are monthly meetings, most of them with special speakers, quilt related activities, and show and tell. We have quilt shows every other year, and lots of quilt-ins, challenges, round robins, and community service projects, along with an impressive library for our members - something for everyone! As you navigate this website, you will see some of our work, check out our schedule, and share our accomplishments. If you are interested in quilting, please join us the first Thursday of the month for our Guild Meeting. We love to meet visitors and will make you feel at home!

Community involvement

Annie Star Quilt Guild is very involved in our local community. Another example of this is this quilt which has been donated to the Boys and Girls Club of Chico for their fundraiser in September 2015. If you want a chance at this quilt, you will need to attend that fundraiser and help them make or beat their anticipated goal for this year.
Thanks to the member who donated this to community service - your efforts in helping the community are most appreciated.

Speaking of donating to community service, our June 4th meeting is dedicated to working on quilts that will be made for the purpose of donating to the community we live in. We are delighted to share our talents with many organizations. We would love to add you to our list of helping hands for our community sew night. There is always something for everyone who comes. If you are interested in our work and our guild, please join us on June 4th. We will be happy to share our time with you.

Please come share this time of community pride with us. If you don't know anyone, we'll introduce you to some of our fantastic guild members. We will have a short meeting and then we will be stitching up those quilt tops. Some will finish their tops and show them off. Others will wait until our July 2nd meeting to show off their tops, and sometimes, finished quilts ready to turn in at our anniversary potluck meeting.

We will be introducing the Quilt Guild board officers for the 2016 year. If you want to be a part of that team, please let our nominating committee know. Last we heard, there is still a need for a recording secretary - a must have position - in order for us to continue as a guild. We would like to say thanks to those who have already stepped up and volunteered for those positions.

Heading for the summer months

While most folks are heading for the summer months and vacations, our guild is heading for another fun packed summer.

We head into May with a visit from Linda Ballard. Linda is a California quilter with an amazing talent. If you've not seen her quilts before, this is a must see. She will be teaching Thursday at Honey Run Quilts inside Cathy's Sew & Vac during the day. Then she'll have dinner with some of our guild members before treating us to a trunk show of some of her fantastic quilts. On Friday, our guild members will be learning from her at a workshop how to put together MacKenzie's Square. This is a two fabric quilt and looks sensational!

This is the sample picture that is on her website and as one who will be taking this workshop, I have to say I love it! I am sure that she will have many others to share that are just as stunning. Please come and enjoy the fun.

June sees us setting up for our Community Sew Night. We get together in small groups and get stitching up several quilt tops that will end up finished by someone at home to be counted among the many quilts we donate around the community. We always have room for more! We welcome visitors who wish to help us create. Even if you don't want to sew, we need folks who will press or just sit and chat with our members. It's an opportunity for those who might want to join our guild to get to know some of the members.

July will be our anniversary potluck where will have a fantastic spread put on by ourselves. There is not a planned speaker that night, but there may be some surprises. We laugh, we tell stories, we visit. Another opportunity to come and join in the fun of our guild. A chance to meet our members and enjoy a fun evening.

August, while it can be hot, is another fun night for our guild. We have a speaker and will be hosting a 2 day workshop. Stay posted for more updates.
