Members and friends, welcome to our website! We are a vibrant, friendly and varied group of almost 200 quilters and quilt artists who have been sharing quilts, talent and camaraderie for quite awhile now. We are now entering our 31st year. There are monthly meetings, most of them with special speakers, quilt related activities, show and tell, etc. We have quilt shows every other year, and lots of quilt-ins, challenges, round robins, and community service projects, along with an impressive library for our members - something for everyone! As you navigate this website, you will see some of our work, see our schedule, and share our accomplishments. If you are interested in quilting, please join us the first Thursday of the month for our Guild Meeting. We love to meet visitors and will make you feel at home!

December means Holiday Fun

December, a month with many holiday opportunities. For our guild meeting, it means it's time for our annual Christmas meeting complete with food, good company, and our beautiful wall of Community Service Quilts. This year we will have the Christmas block exchange - make 2 and have one of your own for yourself. Your Christmas quilt will come together all that much sooner. See the newsletter for instructions. We will enjoy out potluck dinner - we will have plenty to choose from. And as a nice addition, this year we will have Cindy Needham to share a program with us. Anyone who has seen Cindy's work will know this is not to be missed. There will be in house vendors, a miniature craft show of sorts, for us to shop. Maybe pick up those last minute gifts?

So come one, came all and join in the holiday spirit of quilt fun. See you there!

November is here!

November is here and that means our guild meeting is Thursday, November 7, at 7pm. Our quilt show is a memory now and we will start preparing for the next one.

Our speaker will be Marsha Haunschild from Morning Star Quilts. She will be treating us to a trunk show telling us how to get from here to there. I don't know about you, but I just love her and her shop. Come and share her love of quilting.

There will be no workshop this month, so all can work on their projects at home getting ready for the holiday season that is fast approaching.

See you all at the guild meeting!

Committees for the 2013-2014 year

Okay, we have most of the committees for the 2013-2014 guild year. BUT we do have some opening, or if you prefer, vacancies. We can all do something for our guild by helping out on a committee. Is there one that you'd like to help on? Most of our committees are done with at least two people. A couple of exceptions, I know, are President and Treasurer, we only have one recording secretary and one corresponding secretary. But look at our Vice President list - this year we have four!

Join the fun - sign up for a committee! You only have to ask if someone would love to have more help. I can't think of anyone who would turn down help. See you at the next meeting.

September is coming fast

Most of us think September means the start of school. For Annie Star Quilt Guild, it's the start of a new guild year. We'll have new officers and new committee members. This year in September we will be presenting Quilts of Honor. It's a program you won't want to miss. We will have a military honor guard presenting the American Flag.
We will also have our quilt show in September. It's the weekend of September 28-29, 2013. We'll be at the Silver Dollar Fairgrounds and we hope to amaze you with our quilts. Please come see the quilts our talented guild members have put on show for your enjoyment.
Our lineup for the new year has some amazing quilt makers who will be speaking at our guild and then doing a workshop. There will be temptations galore!
Come visit us and learn what we're about.

July Meeting Date JULY 11th

Okay - here's an announcement for all of us. Because the first Thursday is July 4th and most all of us will be celebrating, the guild meeting will be held on the SECOND Thursday, July 11th. Please make sure you make note of this so you are at the meeting.

It's our birthday anniversary celebration and it's a potluck. Bring some marvelous goodie to share and have a blast. Bring a fat quarter of fabric with you as there is going to be a game and your might take home all the fat quarters from your table.

Our own member Kitty Pippin will be treating us to a trunk show. For all who know her work, this is something you don't want to miss. For those who've not ever seen Kitty's work, you have to come.

Remember - July 11th!

February Meeting

Due to serious illness, Nancy Brown will not be attending out guild meeting February 7th. We will have a surprise speaker instead. Our VPs are working hard on this and know we all wish Nancy the best of recoveries. For those who signed up and paid for the class, your checks will be returned at our guild meeting. Please see the Workshop Bettys to get your check back.

To Nancy Brown, please get over whatever nasty illness you have and get better. We will miss you and your quilts. To our guild members, please send lots of warm quilty thoughts to make Nancy get better.

Our quilt show page will start to be updated in the next few weeks. We will have a listing of where the quilt will be along with a bit about the quilt itself. Make sure you as a guild member get your tickets to sell. This is a gorgeous quilt that all of us will want to win for our own.

See you at quilt guild!
